April 2013

April 2013

Flowers—who doesn’t love the beauty they give us in this world?  We grow them to beautify the outdoors, put them in vases to enjoy inside,  give them away to bring joy to others, draw and paint them, and we even sing about them. Flowers are good for nearly any occasion.  April and May’s focus will be on flowers.

If you’ll notice, the coloring book page uses designs from this month’s lessons. For instance, week by week we will learn to draw the walnut swag, shady lilies, peonies, and calla lilies.

All of those flowers are found in the coloring book page for April. (You can write your own words on the sign in that picture.)

This picture is another one I did including three of these same flowers.

This is the first picture colored with pencils and made into a card for you to copy, paste, and print out.  It’s all about friendship.  (It will be blank inside.) Notice I haven't put borders around the card. When you copy it, the left side, or back side of the card, will show up as blank paper--as it should.

WEEK 1

This is our first flower to learn in April: the Walnut Swag.  Remember, you don’t have to draw perfectly to create good art. Just take your time and be neat.

You could even make a wonderful design wrapping one swag around another and coloring them, or texturing them, differently.  Have fun!
