Rosemae

February, Week 4

This week I’m giving you a flower, the Rosemae. It’s an easy flower that lends itself to fun color and texture possibilities.  See what kinds of variations you can make with it by changing leaf and petal shapes, or by texturing and decorating the flowers. You could even try some nice shading or color blending on the leaves and petals. This flower is also used in my color book page. Have fun with it!

This is the start of my flower offerings.  In the coming months there will be more flowers and fun ways to use them.  Flowers and leaves are some of my favorite subjects!  Maybe yours too?

Broken Heart

February, Week 3

We know that into every life some rain must fall. Maybe this Valentine’s Day was a sad one for you. Since expressive art is about letting out and expressing feelings, I offer the broken heart—just in case.

Weeping Hearts

February, Week 2

This design can be used to fill in areas, go around areas, or complement areas, as in the coloring book page where the Weeping Hearts are clasped in a bow. In the original design, the strands of hearts nearly make a circle. The hearts are left white or filled in black, but you could use any kind of design inside the hearts, as well. See how you can create with this design.

Hearts and Flowers

February:  Hearts and Flowers

Happy Valentine’s Day!  What fun to work with love and color—hearts and flowers— in the dead of winter!

The February art will be broken into four weekly postings so you may concentrate on drawing one design per week. The theme is hearts and flowers.

February, Week 1

With this first design, you will be able to make lovely Valentines. Be sure to use other designs with it, along with lots of hearts. The Heart of Hearts may also make a fun school project.

Make Your Own Valentine

School project. This is a simple project. Just use this lace-fringed heart to make your own Valentine for Mom, Dad, or a friend.  Enjoy!

Coloring Book Page

In addition to the posted designs, I will post a different coloring book page each month. You will find it at the top of the website page by clicking on the tab labeled “Coloring Book Page”. The color book page may be enjoyed by both children and adults, but you will need to copy and paste it each month, because it will change every month.
